Q. I am not registered disabled; can I use shop mobility?
A. Yes, Shopmobility is for anyone who has a mobility problem.
Q. If I join Middlesbrough Shopmobility does it mean I am a member of other Shopmobility schemes?
A. No. Each town operates their own independent scheme with their own scale of charges.
Q. I have my own equipment, why should I consider using Shopmobility?
A. Many of our clients have their own equipment and they use Shopmobility to save transferring chairs ect into and out of their cars freeing up valuable space. Also not forgetting free car parking.
Q. Can I use the car park but still use my own equipment?
A. No. To use the Shopmobility car park you must use the equipment.
Q. I like the idea but I am a little unsure, can I try it first?
A. Certainly, whether you're a novice or experienced user of mobility equipment, our friendly team will give you advice and full training.
Q. I don't drive, how can I get there?
A. We operate closely with taxi services and the bus station is situated close by and we would be happy to meet you there.
Q. Do I need to pre-book?
A. You may pre book to make sure the equipment is available but this is not necessary. You are welcome to call anytime without pre booking.
Q. I don't feel I can manage by myself.
A. We can provide an escort to accompany you around the town centre. (48 hours is required for this service)
Q. How do I join Shopmobility?
A. You will need 2 forms of identification, which show your name and address, (ie driving licence or a utility bill). Once you are registered, you will be asked to sign a mandatory insurance declaration form before using the equipment.
